Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

Kristen was our tour guide and she is extremely knowledgeable of Salem history. We’ve taken another tour at night with a more loose interpretation and supernatural twist. Kristen filled in the gaps of that tour with more facts and made us understand what really happened. We would highly recommend this to anyone. Our only regret is that we did not have a little cash to give her as a thank you at the end. Not that it was asked for or expected- she earned it!

I was visiting Salem for the night and decided to go with booking a ghost tour with Black Cat, and I'm so happy that I did. Daniel is a great guide and incredibly knowledgeable about Salem and its ghostly history. He's also a fun storyteller who's passionate about his nightly ghost tours. Absolutely recommend going with Black Cat Tours if you're looking for something fun to do during your stay in Salem!

My husband and I did the ghost tour at night last weekend with tour guide Daniel. Daniel was great! He was the most knowledgable tour guide we've ever had. He seemed to really enjoy answering questions about things that weren't on the tour and even stayed afterward to answer a couple of our questions. He was a great storyteller and you can tell he really loves doing tours.
