Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

Daniel was exceptional with telling his stories, the history of Salem, and all of the Ghost/Witch story excitement. We went on two tours, and his was by far the best, and went into many different avenues of Salem. Highly recommend going with Daniel if you will be doing a tour of Salem. He made us all feel very comfortable - Adults and Teens. Highlight of our trip to Salem.

We arrived for our tour after a storm and my two teenage daughters and I were the only ones to show. But Daniel was waiting for us and did the tour with just us, which was awesome...it was so much fun having a private tour guide. He even brought extra umbrellas which was great because we only had two for the three of us. Daniel was so personable and charming and really seemed to enjoy what he does. We walked by other tours with large groups of people, and none seemed to be having as much fun as we were having. Some of them seemed very theatrical and scripted. Very different from Daniel, he was very engaging and talked much more as if we were having a conversation. He gave us extra interesting ghost stories from around the town just based on those conversations. He said he usually keeps his groups very small, which makes it easier to get to know his guests. And he knew so many interesting stories throughout the entire town, and was so knowledgable with any of our questions. We didn't realize how rich the history of Salem was beyond the Witch trials. His storytelling was so engaging. I felt like I learned a lot. The tour lasted about 90 minutes, but we could have kept going...it was so much fun. All in all, this was one of our favorite activities in Salem, and we truly had a fantastic time! Highly, highly recommended. So sad we had to leave before we could take the day tour as well.

My sister and I just did this tour with Daniel. It ended up being just the two of us and he still did the tour which was great. Very informative and fun
