Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

We just took this tour with our 2 children, aged 12 & 9. We all thoroughly enjoyed the ghost stories and historical info told in a very entertaining manner by our awesome guide, Daniel. Loved the fact that it was a small group. We had 8 people on our tour compared to other tours we passed with tons of people. Daniel was personable and knowledgable, adding in lots personal ghostly tidbits. My son was enthralled with the Pirate Tales while my daughter was heartbroken learning about the Witch Trials, and my hubby took a million pics trying to find a ghost! We loved every bit of this tour and would highly recommend to anyone!

I had so much fun on this tour!  This was my first visit to Salem and I was initially worried when I saw tours (by other companies) leading large groups around like zombie hoards but I was pleasantly surprised that my tour was a lot smaller.  The tour started in a dark alley and our tour guide, Daniel was both friendly and knowledgeable and delivered these intriguing stories with a nice side of dark humor!  We were encouraged to take pictures and ask questions which our guide happily answered.  I would definitely recommend their tours!

We started our tour with one other person, who had to drop out shortly after it began, so we had a private tour the rest of the time. We loved that Daniel knew so much about EVERYTHING, even things that weren't on his normal schpiel. He encouraged us to ask questions about whatever we wanted. My husband and I asked about buildings, legends, and people, and he could answer every question with ease, humor, and great detail. Excellent summary of the local history, with just enough ghost legends to keep it a little spooky.
