Eight Flags Road Tour

Overview
Amelia Island is full of rich history, and is the only location in America to have flown 8 independent flags. It’s rich history takes us on a journey through time including the Timucuan Indians who were our first inhabitants as far back as 2000 BC. The flags tell the story of religious struggle and persecution, the effect of Christianity disallowing any other God to be worshiped. The devastating impact of the Revolutionary war on the island and rebels acting in the name of higher power. Smugglers, slave traders and pirates have all had a part to play in the evolution of this Islands growth. This fascinating tour will take you on a journey through time and show you how such a small barrier island has had a major and little know impact on the history of America. Come and join us on a incredible passage through hundreds of years of incredible historical facts.

Thank you for your comments! It’s really an amazing Island with some of the best history in America. The only location to have flown eight independent flags! That’s not too bad to start with? We really appreciate your taking not only the tour, but taking time out to note this 5 star review. We thank you again!

Am on a business trip for about a week and took advantage of free time and booked this trip. What a wealth of information Daniel is about Amelia Island. The information digests so much better when such rich history comes from a knowledgeable tour guide than reading historical placards. I would recommend this tour to everyone, it was a pleasure.!

It was a pleasure to have you ride the tour, and, as you have mentioned, the Island has some very extensive history. Most people are amazed that such a small island had such a run of independent flags fly over the course of its history. A truly wonderful location. Thank you for taking the tour and writing a review. It really is appreciated.
