We knew this had the potential to bring about a tear or two. It absolutely did. This place is Sacred Ground and an absolutely breathtakingly somber and fitting tribute to those many many people lost during the senseless terrorist attack on 9/11. The park staff is very helpful and makes sure everyone that is here to pay respects is just that; reflective, keeps noise levels at a proper level that is due this monument. They keep the plaza spotlessly tidy, the trees offer plenty of shade and only add to the museum and 1776 foot high observatory deck are well worth the price. It is a MUST do and see whilst in NYC

Our tour guide was John Block. As they had no other booking for our time slot we were lucky enough to get a 1 on 1 tour. We started at battery park and finished at the 911 memorial site. John is a local who has lived here for 50 odd years. This showed with the amount of information and quirky little stories he gave us about all sorts of things. As he will admit himself he is a guy who can and loves to talk, which is a good attribute for a tour guide! He was extremely friendly and even gave us some general tips on how to make the city work for us in terms of transport and not overpaying for things etc. lovely guy and made our experience really nice. Highly recommended.

We met at 1130 and the guide told us she had an appointment at 1, but the tour was supposed to be 2 hours. We told her we wanted to focus on ground zero and walked from Battery Park there. We were a group of 6, 3 seniors and 3 younger adults, 15, 19, 24, mostly w exception of myself visitors from California and Minnesota. At 12;15 she said she had to leave and abruptly dropped us at the World Trade observatory site without our tickets and went. This was extremely rude and while she was a nice woman who tried initially to be helpful it was abrupt, we had to sort out tickets we should have been given and we needed a toilet desparately! Not good. Disappointing, we had a tour and guide and no guide. Would not recommend.
