Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

On my daughter's recommendation we signed up for this tour, I never imagined to be this close to such beautiful and graceful creatures! Even if you've never snorkeled this is a must do. The guides will fit you out with all the equipment you may need. And they recommend towels and a change of clothes although for me I was fine in my wet suit. We even got to see the sunset and green neon flash! The guides give you a brief review of what a manta ray is as opposed to a sting ray, they are different! I had an underwater camera and the pictures do not do this tour justice. If in doubt just do it!

We we were pretty sceptical about this trip, because we did not have the luck to see any humpback wales - so are we going to see manta rays?? Yes, we were lucky and how!! Dusty and Dillan made this trip an unforgettable experience and we saw manta rays flipping underneath us - really magical. Thank you both as well for your respectful behaviour towards manta rays, the sea and us as well as for the explanations and provided background information. We are looking forward to downloading our complementary photos.

I cannot say enough positive things about Dusty and Dylan. They were amazing at every turn. The weather was threatening but we put our trust in them and were not disappointed. It rained and the kids were frozen but we snorkeled for a bit waiting for the sun to set. We were treated with a gorgeous rainbow - one of the best I have ever seen (and we live in Oahu). One of the kids got sick on the boat while we were still in the water. Dylan told us not to worry and took care of her. Holding her, getting her water, and wrapping her up in a towel when she was all done. All this before mantas. The sun set and we got back in the water. Dylan set us up right. He maneuvered us around to ensure the best show. FIVE mantas graced us with their presence and out on a show of a lifetime. Flips and somersaults galore. Dusty got us safely to and from the location and helped keep the kids warm by tucking them in the cabin. A wonderful experience that I would do again and again with these guys.
