Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Captain Dusty and Dillon with Hawaii Oceanic run a fantastic trip! (we did the 3 hour trip) They were friendly and accommodating to our family with tons of local knowledge. We were first to arrive at the dive spot and got to see mantas both in the day and later when the sun set (unlike some of the other boats who arrived later). They did a wonderful job of instructing everyone in the safety and specific info on mantas and the reef and made sure we were in a good position. We had mantas with 6ft+ wingspans roll inches from our faces and this has been a highlight of our trip thus far! Cannot say enough good things about these guys and their outfit. (It's also worth noting that unlike some of the other boats who came in, our group was smaller, appx 14 including the crew which made for a much more personalized and intimate tour.) Highly Recommended!!!

Can’t recommend them strongly enough. They were fantastic with our two young kids and it was clear that we chose the best place to do the Manta Ray experience. Will definitely use them on all future excursions.

Dustin and Dylan did a fantastic job on our Manta Ray tour. Our 15-year old and 10-year old had only just learned to snorkel earlier that day but that was no issue. The equipment (including wetsuits) was fitted to each of us. Entertaining and informative talk about Mantas, a daylight snorkel and the main event: snorkeling with the Mantas were all included. We had a total of 12 people on our boat, age 10 through grandparents. We went on a choppy ocean day and our 10-year old was not comfortable with the chop so she stayed on the boat for the day snorkel. That was totally fine, Dylan and Dustin encouraged her but also let her decide. Very nice. She was ready to go when it was Manta time. They also kept us in the boat till Mantas were sighted in the area. This was appreciated because the water is chilly. I recommend Hawaii Oceanic for a great small group experience!
