Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Fabulous snorkel experience! My wife and I selected Hawaiian Oceanic since it was one of the "green" rated tours and they really went out of their way to demonstrate how they are trying to maintain a sustainable tour business. We didn't realize how few mantas sustain this entire business in the Kona area. Hawaiian Oceanic is the tour company to choose for the best in service!

You might be thinking to yourself right now, "Huh, manta rays are pretty neato, I should find an unreliable, bottom rate, non-service oriented crew to take my sorry behind to see them". Well let me tell you something buster, The Manta Magic experience by Hawaii Oceanic is NOT for you. You don't want the best damn Captain (Dusty) to be navigating the mighty Kona Waves, neither would you want his fine crew to be guiding you on an epic adventure that you will be telling your great grandchildren until their ears bleed. You also dont want someone to provide snacks, jokes, photos, and top rated snorkelling gear free of charge. No, you need to go find some other boat to take you, because Hawaii Oceanic only delivers the BEST experience by far to their guests. Also, this tour is on the green list, that because they want you and future generations to experience the awesome sight of barrelling rolling, deep sea gliding, laser shooting (actually that part is not true) manta rays surfing the Hawaiian depths. So please, let me be clear, if you are a lame sucker who wants to be sharing a barely working boat to watch aholeaholes mess up your view of one of the ocean's greatest creatures, then find another crew. Definately the highlight of my trip to Kona. The braddah's Dillon and Jason were very hospitable. There was a total of 11 guests that took this tour on this day and these guys constantly checked on all of them to make sure everything was good. They are true locals that are very knowledgeable of the mantas and promote a sustainable environment. This is a must do event and I recommend it for anyone who know the basics of snorkeling.
