Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

AMAZING! You just can’t describe it…this 1,000lb elegant beautiful creature will swim inches from you. You just have to experience it!! Very safe, very easy. Quickest easiest snorkel trip you will ever experience with the most amazing results!

Outstanding, memorable experience. Highly recommend. Easy 5 minute boat ride, great safety brief and quality gear: snorkle, mask, to include upper body wetsuit. Felt safe. It was thrilling and just a tad scary being face to face in the water with Manta Rays, but well worthwhile experience. Had contact with 8 Rays. They brushed up against us. They are harmless. Though very big. If you'd like a once in a lifetime experience that you'll remember forever, just do it!

Omg...such an amazing and magical experience for my family. My 8yo daughter did not lift her head out of the water once during the manta ray trip. She loved it! My 11yo son was beyond amazed by the manta rays. It was such a wonderful experience for the entire family. My husband and I couldn't stop talking about the experience on the drive back (and it was a 45 min drive!) Thank you Hawaii Oceanic crew for such an amazing, fun and magical experience. They really made the trip easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend.
