This is a fun-filled interactive walking tour of Greenwich Village's Italian neighborhood. See St. Anthony's Church, Raffetto's Pasta and then stroll MacDougal Street's Caffe Reggio. This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. What To Expect

St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

Being half Italian on my father’s side, I am usually sceptical about these types of tours, and I have been on many such so called Italian walking/eating tours all around the US, but this was by far THE BEST! Greg is a great guy. He actually speaks Italian and has Italian family and lives in the neighbourhood! Every single stop we made was fabulous. From the pastries, to the coffee, the delis, the pizza, the gelato and not forgetting the Brazilian (yes you read that right) sweets, all just brilliant. Also getting to visit two beautiful chapels that were so quiet and peaceful all made for a great tour. We had such a laugh and Greg’s stories of family and the neighbourhood were great. I am quite a fierce critic, but I can’t rate this tour highly enough. Give it a go, you’ll not be disappointed! Thanks Greg for a great couple of hours.

The tour is fantastico! You must must must go with Greg. He is a character and true New Yorker with ties to the area he tours. The food is spectacular, the guide is great, and the atmosphere he creates is intoxicating! Enjoy friends!!

Greg is not only knowledgeable but emotionally invested in his tours. He shares his history as well as the history of the community. His personable style and enjoyment in what he does brings an energy to the tour that you can't beat. I've been on other food tours in NYC w/ family and this was by far the best experience we've ever had. We were constantly laughing and easily lost track of time. We even passed a competing food tour group on our journey and were surprised to see how miserable the guide looked as well as how bored his guests looked. If you want a tour guide who is down to earth and easy to explore with, look no further.
