This is a fun-filled interactive walking tour of Greenwich Village's Italian neighborhood. See St. Anthony's Church, Raffetto's Pasta and then stroll MacDougal Street's Caffe Reggio. This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

If you've seen all the touristy things and want to learn more about the "real" NY, then take this tour! Greg is an enthusiastic, engaging tour guide because of his long-time family connection to the neighborhood. It's almost like you are some out-of-town friends (only 5 were in our tour) that he's showing around the neighborhood, tasting authentic Italian foods along the way (some of which are from "hole-in-the-wall places you would have walked right past) while explaining the area's historical significance. Based on how fun this was, I would heartily recommend "Greg Walks NYC" tour company.

Greg lives in the neighborhood and provides a local flavor that really enhanced the experience. Nice food stops. Good bit of local history. Would take a walking tour with Greg again in a heartbeat!
