This is a fun-filled interactive walking tour of Greenwich Village's Italian neighborhood. See St. Anthony's Church, Raffetto's Pasta and then stroll MacDougal Street's Caffe Reggio. This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. Your food tour guide gives you an insider's perspective into local history with music, serenades and family tales. Samples and sights subject to change.

What To Expect

St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

The tour was more than I expected! I learned so much more about the history and food of Greenwich Village, meeting local business owners as they gave us samples of their delicious foods and stories about their families. Greg was not only knowledgeable but funny and cared about our comfort, providing us cold drinks along the way. I would recommend a tour with Greg and will definitely go on another next time I visit NYC.

We did the Italian food walk tour with Greg and can't recommend it highly enough! Greg was funny, friendly and super knowledgable. He shared lots of local knowledge about the history of the area and the businesses we visited. We discovered so many hidden gems that we would have missed otherwise. The food was amazing and Greg was kind enough to make sure we got to take the pizza back with us for our flight home :D We will definetly be taking another tour next time we are in NYC.
