Private French Quarter and Treme Walking Tour

Overview

Soul of NOLA will take you on a private walking tour of the French Quarter/ Vieux Carré, and just inside the adjacent Treme neighborhood. These neighborhoods were originally settled by Creoles and Free People of Color, they are some of our oldest and are steeped in vibrant cultural history. We will bring this fascinating past to life by sharing the stories of the people that walked these streets & made its colorful history. We'll discuss the varied architecture, and the significance of the French Quarter’s location. In the Treme we’ll talk about music and how New Orleans became the birthplace of jazz. Wear your walking shoes! Walking is the best way to explore the French Quarter. Tailored to your tastes, as are all our excursions.

We’ll be walking up to 2 miles, breaks as needed. Let us know if we need to adjust, we’re flexible!

This was an excellent way to enjoy the French Quarter and Treme. Derek is from NOLA and his southern charm and hospitality shined through his touring expertise. We loved learning the history, as well as, the "local" folklore and story telling. The time flew by in the most comfortable, welcoming and informational way. We left knowing so much more about this wildly fun and delicious city and look forward to coming back for more one day soon. Thank you Derek for sharing your terrific town with such panache! This is undoubtedly one of the best -if not the best- walking tours I have ever been on. Cassandra -our tour guide- was engaging right from the start. Her knowledge of New Orleans is extensive. She covers so much in two hours in a way that leaves you wanting to see more and explore more. This tour covered architectural, cultural, religious and even cuisine aspects to give you a deep understanding of the time periods, influences and what makes New Orleans the hub of tourist attraction it is today. Cassandra gave a very real and personal perspective of what it was like to live through the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and how New Orleans has evolved and continues to evolve. I can not recommend this tour highly enough. It was the highlight of our trip. Thank you so much Cassandra you made our first trip to NOLA memorable and fun. We will be back. ☘️
