Soul of NOLA will take you on a private walking tour of the French Quarter/ Vieux Carré, and just inside the adjacent Treme neighborhood. These neighborhoods were originally settled by Creoles and Free People of Color, they are some of our oldest and are steeped in vibrant cultural history. We will bring this fascinating past to life by sharing the stories of the people that walked these streets & made its colorful history. We'll discuss the varied architecture, and the significance of the French Quarter’s location. In the Treme we’ll talk about music and how New Orleans became the birthplace of jazz. Wear your walking shoes! Walking is the best way to explore the French Quarter. Tailored to your tastes, as are all our excursions.

We’ll be walking up to 2 miles, breaks as needed. Let us know if we need to adjust, we’re flexible!

My family loved our tour with Derek from Soul of Nola. We highly recommend our guide and the company! We each walked away with a story about New Orleans's character and history and enjoyed discussing it over lunch, afterward.

We had an amazing tour of the French Quarter with Derek. We were a group of 6 couples traveling from out of state and the tour exceeded our expectations. It was just the right amount of history, interesting facts, quirky stories and stops for refreshments. We had such a good time that we continued hanging with Derek for an impromptu happy hour when the tour was over. Fantastic!

What a great tour! I had been to New Orleans prior to this tour, but only been to Bourbon Street and Magazine Street. I wanted to know more of the history behind the French Quarter and other parts of New Orleans and this tour delivered. We learned about the French and Spanish history all while seeing the historic landmarks in the quarter. When it came time to visit the Treme, we learned what Mardi Gras is truly about by learning about and seeing the work of Mardi Gras Indians from years past. Our tour guide was personable and was full of insider information, such as facts you wouldn't get otherwise. A great mix of contemporary and historic happenings around the neighborhoods. Thanks again.
