Private French Quarter and Treme Walking Tour

Overview

Soul of NOLA will take you on a private walking tour of the French Quarter/ Vieux Carré, and just inside the adjacent Treme neighborhood. These neighborhoods were originally settled by Creoles and Free People of Color, they are some of our oldest and are steeped in vibrant cultural history. We will bring this fascinating past to life by sharing the stories of the people that walked these streets & made its colorful history. We'll discuss the varied architecture, and the significance of the French Quarter’s location. In the Treme we’ll talk about music and how New Orleans became the birthplace of jazz. Wear your walking shoes! Walking is the best way to explore the French Quarter. Tailored to your tastes, as are all our excursions.

We’ll be walking up to 2 miles, breaks as needed. Let us know if we need to adjust, we’re flexible!

Our walking tour of the French Quarter was the highlight of our first visit to New Orleans. Cassandra was a incredible source of information about this wonderful city. We learned so much about the history of the city and she set the stage by showing us a few interesting maps of the city to help illustrate what happened and why with respect to Katrina. I strongly recommend using her if you visit!

We’re just back from celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday in Nola! I love private tours And have them drop us at dinner spot. I first called another which was fully booked! That owner recommended Soul of NOLA And Cassandra owner. She immediately responded and customized my requests. She assigned us to Derek, who was absolutely Fabulous. He was detailed, knowledgeable and a lot of fun! Derek is finishing his PhD At Tulane. His family goes back generations and He added that history to our tour. We literally saw every neighborhood in New Orleans! Highlights included walking in The Garden District beautiful homes. We saw City Park Twice the size of Central Park where we had Beignets at Cafe du Monde wonderful! Derek then dropped us in the Marigny District Where we were having dinner and seeing live jazz! As we were early Derek recommended a lovely hotel for a cocktail which had live jazz in their courtyard! The whole day WAS the highlight of our visit! Not only do we recommend Soul of Nola we will use them on every visit!!! Thank you Cassandra and Derek!!!

My husband and I decided to do a long weekend in new orleans at the last minute..we had been here a few times before when taking a cruise but had not been able to see much of the city...this trip we had time and decided to take a private tour. We tried calling several companies and was lucky enough to find one with a tour available...derrek was our guide, he is very laid back and we felt comfortable with him immediately...born and raised in new orleans he knows the city very well and was able to answer all of our questions...he even took us to a great po boy restaurant and we enjoyed a roast beef po boy and fried pickles... really good!!...he showed us the entire city...my favorite was the garden district and hubby enjoyed seeing the 9th ward...we highly recommend this company..they are safe and professional...you will have a great time!!
