Private French Quarter and Treme Walking Tour

Overview

Soul of NOLA will take you on a private walking tour of the French Quarter/ Vieux Carré, and just inside the adjacent Treme neighborhood. These neighborhoods were originally settled by Creoles and Free People of Color, they are some of our oldest and are steeped in vibrant cultural history. We will bring this fascinating past to life by sharing the stories of the people that walked these streets & made its colorful history. We'll discuss the varied architecture, and the significance of the French Quarter’s location. In the Treme we’ll talk about music and how New Orleans became the birthplace of jazz. Wear your walking shoes! Walking is the best way to explore the French Quarter. Tailored to your tastes, as are all our excursions.

We’ll be walking up to 2 miles, breaks as needed. Let us know if we need to adjust, we’re flexible!

An excellent and informative private tour. As it was our first time in the city, our guide provided a solid foundation of history and New Orleans culture. Cassandra was incredibly knowledgable and encouraged us to ask questions. Cassandra was fantastic! She asked us what specifically we were interested in hearing about and was really knowledgeable about the city history, architecture, culture & food. She answered questions, tied history to the present - and made it so interesting without the hoaky stuff advertised elsewhere. Also, she had great bar & restaurant recommendations, across the city.

We really enjoyed our tour with Derek. He was full of knowledge about the the history of NOLA, Louisiana, and the Mississippi River. We were able to tour at our pace. He went above and beyond to make sire that we were comfortable and having a good time on our tour.
