What An amazing experience! Highly recommend this if you come to Alaska!! Flew to the top of a glacier and met a great group of dog handlers and mushers! The dogs were so amazing to watch in action!

This is a splash out, bucket list experience at around 575 USD each for two hours but it was fantastic. We were so lucky as it was a beautiful 25 degree, clear sky day. We were kitted out by the ground crew in waterproof clothing and overshoes but it was actually pretty warm on the glacier. The helicopter ride was a smooth and scenic 7 mins each way and the remainder of the time was spent on the glacier with the dogs. It's a totally pristine environment in that there is nothing else there but the dog camp and the 7 staff who live up there in rotation for 4/5 days at a time. It was all pretty informal and we could pat the dogs, play with the puppies in their pens and ask lots of questions. I was a little concerned about the dogs welfare before the trip but it was clear that they are well looked after and taken care of and that they love their job - they got so excited whilst getting hitched and during the run. Our sled ride was good fun and we did a circular trip of the glacier. You can also go sledding up there if you want. All in all a truly memorable experience.
