Tree Canopy Climbing on Lopez Island

Overview
Come experience the only old-growth tree climbing activity in the State of Washington and create some unforgettable memories. This is your chance to do something not even .1% of the population has done, but now you can. In small-groups climb together on 1-4 trees between 100 and 200 feet high, depending on your athletic level. Some of the trees are even rare old-growth trees. See the unique perspective above the canopy and feel what it's like to be eye level with an eagle as you climb/swing around like a monkey through the open air and catch branches, while safely harnessed by rope. Climb your way up some of the tallest trees in the world to amazing views of the upper canopy, mountains, and ocean. Connect to nature like you have never done before, beyond the trail.

During this activity you will explore the special ecology of old-growth trees and its importance in our environment and so much more.

I cannot overstate how incredible this was. We met up with our guide Matt who ended up being one of the most attentive, yet relaxed people I've ever met and from there it was nothing but pure FUN! Went with a group of 5 and not a second passed that smiles weren't abound. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who has an urge to live life to the fullest. Who knows, maybe this isn't a one-in-a-lifetime experience because I would love to go again.

We saw the sign advertising this while hiking at Deception Pass; my son thought it looked awesome. Instant birthday idea! And it was an absolute hit for our 12 year old. Matt was a patient, easy-going and friendly instructor, and helped make this a great experience for our boy who is now the first in our family to say he climbed up a 200' old growth tree. We will be doing this again, as a family, as soon as our youngest hits the minimum age.

Hey Jeff, happy we could make your boy's birthday a big hit. Not only is your boy the only one in the family but he is also a part of the .001% of the population who has ever accomplished climbing old-growth trees of this size. We look forward to climbing with your whole family again in the future! Tree Hugs,

My birthday month and day are the same as famous conservationist John Muir, so I wanted to celebrate my 70th birthday this year with a canopy tree climb. Leo of Adventure Terra took me on a solo trip because no one else signed up for that day. Thanks Leo for your extra work to accommodate by birthday. I was so glad I did the climb: it was so exciting. I was impressed with Leo's commitment to to environment and educating customers on the tree canopy and old growth in addition to the climb itself.

Hey John! It was great climbing with you as well and with a fellow climber who has the same appreciation of old growth. Thank again for sharing the John Muir Story with me, i appreciated that insight. Best Wishes and please do come back sometime with your friends to share this experience!
