Amelia Island is full of rich history, and is the only location in America to have flown 8 independent flags. It’s rich history takes us on a journey through time including the Timucuan Indians who were our first inhabitants as far back as 2000 BC. The flags tell the story of religious struggle and persecution, the effect of Christianity disallowing any other God to be worshiped. Smugglers, slave traders and pirates have all had a part to play in the evolution of this Islands growth. This fascinating tour will take you on a journey through time and show you how such a small barrier island has had a major and little know impact on the history of America. Come and join us on a incredible passage through hundreds of years of incredible historical facts.

Our guide, Daniel, was friendly, knowledgeable and interesting. He made us feel welcome and readily answered our questions about the History of Amelia Island. Perhaps he could show others interesting sites around the island too

Thank you for your feedback. We're happy you had a good experience on our tour! There are other interesting places to see on Amelia Island, but the 'Eight Flags Road Tour' is only about the eight flags that have flown here over the course of history, and the area we tour was where all the action was. We will be adding other tours in the near future that will explore many other places of the island, so if you come back to visit, look us up and see what's new. Again, thank you for your feedback, and we hope you come back again to enjoy the beauty of Amelia Island!

Got a little lost at first, but we got there early enough to figure it out. We were looking for an office, but it's just a bus stop sign near a parking lot. Our tour guide was great though! We went there because my grandmother was born on the island in 1942 and hasn't returned for over 70 years. The tour guide pointed out a lot about Florida's history that isn't taught in Florida schools which was interesting for me as well.
