Half Day Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview
Explore the National Elk Refuge, home to thousands of wintering elk, hundreds of bison, bighorn sheep and an array of bird life before venturing into Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole’s wintering wildlife is abundant with opportunities to see bison, elk, deer, moose, fox, coyote, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might also choose to stop at the Jackson Hole Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park. The route varies seasonally based on group interest, road closures and wildlife migration.

So much fun!!! They picked us up from our hotel and then we headed towards Grand Teton and on our way there we saw a few moose and then we took some back roads we never would have found on our own and stumbled upon a bison nursery herd crossing the path and was able to get up close at a safe distance. And then we headed to Grand Teton entrance and stopped at beautiful scenic spots. There wasn't much wildlife like you see on movies BUT it's because we learned the animals that inhabit the park are not heat tolerant and we went in June! But it was very fun there was 6 of us and each row had souvenir water tins that were filled with ice cold water and muffins from the bakery in town and yummy snacks!! Including towels, wipes, and sanitizer. Also our driver was very very nice and held conversations well.

My wife and I had our 3 children (18,15,11) on the tour. We were not disappointed in any way. Our tour guide, Grant, provided a very informative tour. We learned about the wildlife and the history of the area. Best of all, we saw a lot of wildlife. Grant was very good at knowing the best places to locate wildlife and had a great eye spotting some of them from a distance. We saw a couple of Moose, a herd of Elk, a number of Pronghorn, a large herd of Bison (over 100), and the famous grizzly 399 and her 4 cubs. My family was not familiar with 399, but Grant provided a great background on her. Grant also did a very good job on ensuring everyone was comfortable on the trip and had a great time. We'd highly recommend this tour.

Jody, our guide, was great. He kept us moving and informed. He listened to our interests and adapted the safari to accommodate them. Would do it again.
