Half Day Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview
Explore the National Elk Refuge, home to thousands of wintering elk, hundreds of bison, bighorn sheep and an array of bird life before venturing into Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole’s wintering wildlife is abundant with opportunities to see bison, elk, deer, moose, fox, coyote, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might also choose to stop at the Jackson Hole Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park. The route varies seasonally based on group interest, road closures and wildlife migration.

With less than 2 days in Jackson, my kids and I were looking to make the most of our stay and have an opportunity to see some of the abundant wildlife that graces this beautiful park. I read the reviews of Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari and, with fingers crossed, left a message on their after hours answering machine hoping that there would be availability on a tour the next day. I heard back from them promptly the next morning and we were easily scheduled for an afternoon 4 hour tour. Out tour guide Ash Tallmadge, a native of the area, promptly picked us up from our hotel in a clean and spacious van. Binoculars, beverage, and snacks were provided. The tour was nothing short off perfect! 5 stars all the way!!! Ash was simply wonderful!! Personable, passionate, and incredibly versed in all aspects of the park...from the wildlife to the history. Her academic background in ecology allowed her to explain things with clarity and confidence and her true love of the area and dedication to its preservation gave soul to what could otherwise could have simply been 'a tour'. We also appreciated her tireless patience with our constant questions. Her knowledge of the area allowed us to see elk, red tailed hawk, trumpet swans, big horned sheep, bison, and moose. The super powerful telescope that she would set up at various spots allowed us to see some of the more distant animals up close as well as capture great pictures through the lens. It was a fabulous day, well worth the money. Thank you Ash!!

We did an early morning tour with Jeffrey and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough - he was so knowledgeable and friendly and took us to some great (quiet) spots where we saw moose, bison, big horn sheep, coyote and elk. The van was very comfortable, plenty of snacks and drinks provided - as well as a souvenir water bottle! A great experience, highly recommend!

Took the half day sunset tour,Grant was our guide. He was very personable, knowledgeable, professional and safe. Tailored the tour to what we were interested in....we wanted to see a moose! Well we saw moose....and Bison, bald eagle, deer, and even stopped at downtown Jackson Hole to catch a glimpse of the cougar which had recently taken refuge on the mountain. Three couples went, and we were very comfortable in the spacious and clean new van. Bottled water and snacks were provided, which was a nice touch. Grant took us to so many beautiful and truly breathtaking spots in the Tetons....was a fabulous day! Highly recommend
