This is a fun-filled interactive walking tour of Greenwich Village's Italian neighborhood. See St. Anthony's Church, Raffetto's Pasta and then stroll MacDougal Street's Caffe Reggio. This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. What To Expect

St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

Greg did a wonderful job taking us to a mixture of historical buildings, butcher shops, bakeries and tasty places. His knowledge of the neighborhood, Italian history and culture, and the food made it fun for our group. We will tour more places with Greg next time we are in NYC.

I lived in Greenwich Village for years and had no idea about most of the places we visited! And now I have a whole slew of restaurants/stores to go to in the future. Greg was super fun, had lots of good stories, and knew so many people we passed on the street! This is a great tour for people coming to the city, not only for the amazing food, but for an inside view of how NYC does have friendly local neighborhoods, despite it's all-business looking facade. Now I want to do the pierogi tour! ;)
