We booked a helicopter tour for my birthday. Unfortunately the inclement weather meant a postponement. I did call to confirm our booking on the morning of the scheduled flight as requested and was told there was a chance it would not go ahead as planned and the company promised to call if this were the case. As we heard nothing, we went down to the heliport only to be told it was cancelled - disappointing as I had made the effort to call ahead and the trip took an hour out of our day. Having said that, we were rescheduled for Saturday which dawned bright and sunny. Although the trip is quite short at around 15 minutes, it was absolutely unforgettable. I gather there are restrictions on flying over Manhattan, but we went out from the SE of the island round the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson as far as Central Park before returning. We had good views of the city and park and some commentary by the very friendly pilot. Although this is a super-expensive 15 minutes, it was an absolutely unforgettable trip.

I've done a few helicopter tours before in different locations, but this one had great views. I lucked out on the weather and the pilot did a nice job pointing out landmarks for both sides of the helicopter.
