Private Whitney Plantation, Museum of Slavery, and St Joseph Plantation Tour

Overview
This is a small narrated private tour by van, for groups of up to 12 travelers. At Whitney Plantation's Louisiana Museum of Slavery, see the harsh realities and raw historical facts of a dark side of American history. The slave narratives and artwork recreate the world of a pre-Civil War southern sugar plantation and memorial in honor of the lives of the enslaved people who toiled there. A short ride through sugar cane fields leads to St. Joseph Plantation, a Creole style family-owned working sugar cane plantation. Family members give a relaxed, intimate tour of their ancestral home and dependencies (including original slave cabins).

The Whitney plantation self-guided tour was a profoundly moving experience. Rene was also a wonderful guide and knows a lot about the region's history.

Ellen was a great guide. We learned a lot along the way and the plantations had great information. Pick up and drop off at your hotel was convenient and the van was clean and spacious.

This entire experience was seamless. Upon booking directly you receive a text with all required information; the tour guide picks you up and drops you off directly from your hotel; you get a personal tour of the rich history of the area on the entire drive; and assistance while at the plantation as needed. It was so nice being apart of a smaller tour group. Our tour guide, Stephen, was incredibly knowledgeable, was patient and considerate, and took the time to answer all questions throughout the entire tour. I will definitely go on an Isabelle tour again when I’m back (and request for Stephen!)!
